Dublin Debauchery

Well last night was our first night of debauchery in Europe and it was everything I had hoped it would be. On our only night in Dublin we went on a pub crawl organized by the hostel.  Pubs are awesome.  The main difference between the Dublin Pubs we went to and American bars back home was the friendly communal atmosphere.  One of the pubs we went to had a live band.  Two guys, one guy played the guitar and the other guy played a number of flute/piccolo looking instruments.  They went back and fourth between playing American songs like brown eyed girl and wagon wheel (which I was surprised to find that Europeans knew) to stereotypical sounding Irish songs.  He called one "free falling" and I thought they were going to bust out some tom petty.  We also met some German girls who were very friendly.  And it's nice to talk to foreigners because all of the awkwardness of meeting people is lost in trying to translate languages.  Anyway, we had a blast.

Right now Thomas and I are sitting in the Dublin airport.  We had our first snafu of the trip this morning.  We couldn't find the bus stop for the bus service that was supposed to take us to the airport.  It was all good though because we hailed a cab.  We'll be in London here in the next few hours where hopefully we can catch up on sleep before we do it all again tonight.
