Beer and Camden Pub Crawl

To be honest, thus far I've been rather disappointed with European beer.  Stouts and darker beers aren't my favorite, which is what we were drinking in Dublin.  In England it seemed like the stuff available on tap was mostly lighter colored lagers and ales.  I'll keep my manhood and pass on any ale that comes close to resembling a cider.  The best beer I've had so far was an English lager called 1664.  Kind of tasted like a land shark.

Also, I thought european fancied themselves as big drinkers.  Yes, you can order a pint.  But, the standard measurement (1 uk drink) is like basically half a beer.  It said 330mL, and I have no idea how that translates to fluid ounces, but it was definitely a sissy amount of beer.

Anyway, the other night we did the Camden pub crawl in London.  My favorite part of the trip so far.  Even better than the Dublin one.  Basically the way pub crawls work is that you pay like twentyish dollars and some locals take you to about five different pubs where you get free shots and various drink discounts.  I really like them because they take you to the good pubs (even if they're touristy) and because the group you go with consists of a bunch of people who are also traveling.  So it's easy to make friends.  This time we met a group of Swedish girls.  Surprisingly enough they were all computer engineers.  

The pub crawl finished at a more club type venue where they had a live band who was pretty good.

It was a great time.  Right now I am on the chunnel into Brussels.  Looking forward to some real beer and maybe some waffles and chocolate.
